There are many refreshing drinks in this world that make us refresh. If we have any tough day and at the end of the day if we get some refreshing drinks that give us more energy for doing some hard work. Among them, my all-time favorite is Bubble tea.
Bubble tea is a Taiwanese refreshing drink. Most of the people in Taiwan drink this tea a lot. It was invented in Tainan and Taichung in the 1980s. Mian ingredients of this drink is Tapioca, it is a starch extracted from cassava root. It consists of almost pure curbs and contains very little protein, fiber or nutrients. This drink is also known as Boba Milk Tea and Pearl milk Tea. It is quite tricky to cook that is why I will tell you today an easy way how to cook this refreshing tea easily at home.
At first, I will tell you the process to cook tapioca pearls.
Tapioca pearls are a little bit tricky to cook. Here I’ll show you some easy tricks to cook tapioca pearls for homemade bubble tea. It won’t take much time to cook them, and it will be much better than dried tapioca pearls found that you find in stores.
Easiest Way to Cook Small White Tapioca Pearls
Ingredients You Need:
- You need a cup of raw small white tapioca pearls.
- Then you need 8 cups of water
- Finally, you need the utensils– a pot with lid, spoon, mesh strainer, a bowl & a plastic wrap.
Way to Cook Tapioca Pearls (Boba)
#Step 1: At first, take a medium-sized pot and pour 7 cups of water in it. Now put it on the stove and let the water come to a boil on high heat.
#Step 2: Now, put the tapioca pearls on the boiling water cautiously. Then reduce the heat to medium-high heat and cook the pearls for an hour. Stir those at regular intervals. Remember one thing, do not cover the pot. After finish cooking, put down the pot from the stove.
#Step 3: After that, drain the excess water from the cooked tapioca pearls by putting those on a mesh strainer. Then carefully rinse the pearls through cold running tap water.
#Step 4: Now put the cooked & rinsed tapioca pearls in a bowl and immerse it with filtered water. Just pour enough water to submerges all the tapioca pearls properly. Mix them once gently.
#Step 5: After that, put those in a zipped bag or seal the bowl with plastic wrap where you put the pearls and put this in the fridge overnight to freeze them properly. Keep it in the fridge for approximately 8 to 9 hours.
#Step 6: Afte this time, bring it out from the fridge and remove the plastic wrap and separate the pearls by stirring gently with a spoon.
#Step 7: Now, again pour 7 cups of water on the pot and put it on the stove with high-heat to boil the water. Put the separated tapioca pearls again on the boiled water and reheat them for 10-15 minutes. Now, cover the pot with the lid and put it down from the stove. Keep it like this for 20-25 minutes until each pearl is almost semi-transparent.
Finally, uncover the lid, rinse the pearls gently under the running tap water for a few seconds.
In this way, you can perfectly cook your small white tapioca pearls. You also can use these glassy jelly-like gorgeous white tapioca pearls to make desserts.
Now I am gonna share how to cook bubble tea with this white tapioca pearls.
Ingredients You Will Need to Prepare Bubble Tea:
- Two black tea bags. If you want you can use normal tea two tablespoons. But I would suggest you to use black tea for more taste.
- ½ cups of cooked black tapioca pearl.
- ½ cup of cold fresh milk.
- 4 tablespoons of white and 2 tablespoons of brown sugar.
That’s all we need, now let’s see how to cook.
How To Make Bubble Tea:
Step1. Put two tea bags in a mug or in a glass container add two cups of hot water and let it sit for 3 to 5 minutes. After 3 to 5 minutes take out the tea bags and let it cool.
Step2. Bring 6 to 7 cups of water in a pan and place it into the stove and heat the stove in high heat and wait until the water starts boiling. When the water starts boiling pour 1 cup off black tapioca pearl. While cooking the tapioca in the hot water keep string it with a spoon to avoid sticking together. Now kook it on medium heat. Add water as needed until the tapioca is cooked properly.
Step3. After cooking the tapioca pour it into a strainer to drain the cooking water and wash it with cold water and let it be cool.
Step4. Pour some water into a bowl then add two tablespoons of brown sugar and mix it properly. Now pour the cooked tapioca into the sugar mixture it will help to avoid the tapioca from sticking together.
Step5. Now take ½ of cooked tapioca in a 22oz glass or disposal cups. Now add 4 tablespoons of sugar. Now add the 1 cup of black tea which we put for being cool. Then add ½ cup fresh milk on it, now add some ices and mix it slowly and it is ready.
For more flavor, if you want you can add coconut milk. In summer if you want a refreshing drink instead of milk you can add your favorite fruit juice. Besides this, you can also add honey to make it sweet instead of sugar.
If you want to make this delicious refreshing drink tastier you can add some cream and choco syrup at the top of this tea. You can also add chocolate or vanilla ice cream if you want.
